Would You Wear Converse Sneakers to a Prom?

Would you wear Converse to your prom? The idea of a prom is surely to get dressed up in beautiful gowns and tuxedos, dress your hair, have dress shoes and make a very elegant and very stylish party out of it. Well I could not believe that at the latest prom I was helping out at that some girls were turning up with the most absolutely beautiful A line gowns on and they looked stunning until I looked down and they were wearing Converse sneakers with them. Some guys actually came along too and were wearing black tuxes and black Converse high tops. I understand completely that you want to feel comfortable but a suit and a gown with sneakers just really does not go. I can understand wearing a gown that you think might cover your feet you can wear anything because no one can see your footwear but be warned your footwear is on show more than you think.
