What Causes Snoring and How to Cure It

January 30th, 2012

The sounds of snoring occurs when the airways are partially closed. Once the muscles in the back of our mouth are at their relaxed states, the air movement will drive them to turn because they are dangling loose near the throat. These muscles will then strike each other as air passes which then cause them to vibrate and produce sounds.

Excess fleshy framework in the throat is the main origin of snoring. By having more tissues that collides, it is more likely that snoring will happen. This clarifies why people snore when they have big tonsils or adenoids. Obese individuals, on the further hand, have bigger necks that narrow the air passage while adding more obstructions due to the presence of excess tissues. Although rare, cysts and tumors are able to also directly cause snoring. For some people anti-snoring devices like Zquiet are the best choice, while others will have to consult their physician in order to reduce snoring.
