Genetics and Risk for DUI in Seattle

Many people do not realize that Genetics plays a large role in how a body absorbs alcohol. That absorption difference can be huge when a person is looking at a traffic stop for suspected DUI. DUI attorney Seattle caution drivers to never drive if they have had even one drink. Washington state is one of the states in the Union that is conscious of the rights of their citizens. At least a driver in Seattle does not have to be concerned about unconstitutional sobriety checkpoints, but they do need to be conscious of how even one drink may affect their blood alcohol concentration.

Scientific studies have shown that different races, based on their genetics absorb alcohol at different rates. That means that some people because of their genes are predisposed to absorb alcohol at a faster rate. This rate of absorption means that they will be more likely to demonstrate a blood alcohol content that is considered DUI after just one drink.
